Snicket

Frost Dragon, age 7, with us since 2026

Snicket is a recent addition to our dragon family. Earlier this year, we visited the Fracture only to see snow and hail pouring through. Then all in a flurry, Snicket came falling through. He had been practicing making snowstorms and had lost control of it.

He crash landed quite badly and damaged his right wing. We called in our healers and they were able to splint it up. It's been a long road to recovery for Snicket: The injury to his wing healed, but he's needed a lot of physiotherapy to learn to fly again.

Teaching Snicket to fly again has been the first use of our new Dragon Support Drones. These medium-sized remote control drones are designed to fly with our young dragons and guide them through the safe and secret flying routs in the valley. They also include a camera and radio so our ground-based human volunteers can see the dragon and talk with it during flight.

When he's not practicing flying, Snicket lives in a cold habitat that we created out of a temperature-controlled lorry. We do our best to make it just like home, but he often misses real snow. His current physio goal is to be able to fly far enough to visit the snowy peaks of our nearby mountains this winter.
